The International Legal Support for Overseas Enterprises provides legal consultation on critical areas that require legal support and review when our companies go abroad.

The advisory group consists of 218 experts who offer legal consultation services during the overseas expansion process in countries like the United States, China, Japan, Southeast Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. Starting this year, the support has been expanded to include mid-sized companies.

The Korean Ministry of Justice holds domestic legal briefings on various devices and countries related to overseas expansion, providing on-site, close legal support services to SMEs operating abroad and publishing legal guides for companies expanding overseas.

The United States has imposed stringent export controls on semiconductors and semiconductor manufacturing equipment to China, a move often referred to as the "chip war." This policy is primarily driven by national security concerns, aimed at curbing China's technological advancements, particularly in areas like artificial intelligence and supercomputing.

However, there is growing concern about the potential for these export controls to be circumvented through indirect exports. In response to this, the US Department of Commerce announced on October 7, 2022, measures to strengthen export controls on semiconductors and related equipment to prevent China's military modernization.
