Where the Future of Precision Machining is Being Kindled
The factory tour was led by Mr. Shim Jho Whoun, the managing director of ORSKOREA and included a tour of the factory and a look at the machinery under development.
The tour introduced the process lines, including grinding machines and director Shim explained the mechanisms of grinding machinery systems himself.
High Precision Centerless Grinding
The participants showed keen interest in SGC 500, a high precision centerless grinding machine and ORSKOREA(오알에스코리아). SGC 500, a compound and wide centerless grinding machine, increases the efficiency of outer diameter grinding for cylindrical-shaped workpiece through two processing methods. (through-feed or in-feed).

A Vision for the Future
Also, a meeting was conducted between ORSKOREA and KBIA(Korean Bearing Industry Association) to discuss the next generation grinding machine project. The meeting entailed the topic of the next machine project that ORSKOREA will be conducting and how the project will be approached. This project is funded by the Korean government to further advance Korea's grinding machine manufacturing technology.
The purpose of this project is to develop a grinding machine which is an internal/external simultaneous grinding machine will reduce the cycle time and at the same time provide manufacturers with a quality finish product. The project is scheduled for this year and the machine will be completed by the end of 2020.
